This work takes place in the very general framework of distributed problem-solving. However the point is neither to present "yet another distributed problem- solving system" nor a new multi-agent framework, but a collective problem-solving method. During a collective problem-solving, each individual partici pates to the problem-solving process, and therefore it is a mat ter of specifying the problem-solving process in terms of inter- individual control. Our method provides an explicit distribution of control onto individual behaviors in terms of influences. The implementation of these influences determines local collective behaviors and, therefore the behavior of the collectiveness. We thus are interested in defining a method to distribute the prob lem-solving process that rests upon the distribution of control onto the individuals. This paper presents the necessary steps for the analysis and de sign of these behaviors. It is illustrated with an example of distributed regulation.
